潘兴广场资本管理提议将一家新成立的子公司与Howard Hughes Holdings Inc．合并，把这家房地产开发商打造成“当代”版伯克希尔。

　　该公司在其网站上发布的致投资者信中表示，Bill Ackman经营的这家投资公司向Howard Hughes股东开价每股85美元，其中大部分将以现金支付。这比8月份潘兴广场表达潜在合并意向时Howard Hughes的股价溢价38.3%。

　　Ackman数月来一直在为收购Howard Hughes的交易做准备。8月份，他说他正在与Jefferies Financial Group Inc．合作，可能收购潘兴广场尚未拥有的Howard Hughes所有股份。该投资公司的基金持有Howard Hughes 37.6%的股份。

　　Howard Hughes的代表没有立即回复置评请求。

　　这笔交易将使Ackman有机会扩张以投资总体规划社区和零售物业而闻名的Howard Hughes。他表示，他将推动该公司将现金用于投资运营中的公司，效仿巴菲特在伯克希尔的投资模式。

　　Howard Hughes股价因这一消息而大涨9.5%，报78.62美元。

　　Ackman表示他预计Howard Hughes的所有现有员工都将留任。Howard Hughes的高级领导层将由潘兴广场的高管领导，Ackman将担任董事长兼首席执行官。
