0851 GMT - Shares in European semiconductor-equipment manufacturers and suppliers fall in early trading on renewed fears about the threat posed by Chinese rivals. Dutch manufacturers ASML, ASM International and BE Semiconductor, as well as industry suppliers VAT Group and SUSS MicroTec, all fall around 8% after Chinese startup DeepSeek said it can run its latest AI model on less advanced chips. This could prove a challenge to the U.S. technology sector's dominance, senior analyst at Swissquote Bank Ipek Ozkardeskaya writes. The fears also cause Siemens Energy to fall nearly 20%, less than a week after analysts said the company was set to benefit from President Trump's AI Stargate investment. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
