Cipher Mining Shares Rise After News of SoftBank Group Investment

Shares of Cipher Mining were trading higher in the after-hours market following news of a $50 million private investment in public equity deal from SoftBank Group.

After the bell Thursday, shares of Cipher Mining rose 19% to trade at $5.60. The stock finished the day's regular session with a 4.4% gain, closing at $4.70.

Cipher said the investment will support its HPC data center development business and establish SoftBank as a significant primary investor.

Cipher said it develops and operates industrial-scale data centers for bitcoin mining and HPC hosting.
