港铁(00066.HK) 表示，由于东铁线太和站附近，有一列工程车在凌晨出勤后出现故障，停在行车线上，影响正常运作及列车进出太和站，东铁线列车服务要调整，来往金钟站至火炭站每4分钟一班；来往火炭站至大埔墟站每8分钟一班；来往大埔墟站至罗湖站每16分钟一班；来往上水站至落马洲站每24分钟一班。
港铁表示，工程人员仍在尽力处理事件。现时所有东铁线南行及北行列车到达太和站时，均需使用1号月台上下客，车站已加派人手在月台作出广播及协助乘客。相关车站包括太和站会关闭个别出入口，实施人流管理措施。由于预计早上繁忙时间车站将会非常繁忙，乘客需要较长的等候时间。请乘客考虑使用其他交通工具，预先计划行程及为行程预留充裕时间。
