Rumble (RUM) said Wednesday that it and Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) are suing Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes over allegations he violated US Constitutional free speech protections.
The companies said the alleged violation occurred when de Moraes ordered the suspension of US-based accounts of a "specific well-known, politically outspoken user." The lawsuit, which was filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, seeks a declaration that the judge's orders are not enforceable in the US.
The companies said the gag order targets a former priest and independent journalist who fled Brazil for the US in 2021.
Rumble and Trump Media also said neither company has any entities, operations, employees, bank accounts, or businesses in Brazil.
