Fortive named Mark Okerstrom as its new finance chief to succeed Chuck McLaughlin. Okerstrom served as the chief executive of Expedia from 2017 until 2019.

The industrial technology conglomerate on Tuesday said Okerstrom will take over the finance chief role March 24, the day of McLaughlin's retirement.

McLaughlin will continue to serve in a non-executive officer role through the end of the year to assist with the transition, Fortive said.

Okerstrom is mostly known for his tenure at Expedia, where he spent 13 years and served in different executive roles, including CFO, before taking over the company's top position in 2017.

In 2019, he resigned as CEO amid clashes over the direction of the travel company.
