Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) repurchased 1.7 million ordinary shares for cancelation as part of its buyback program announced on Feb. 20, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
The acquisition included 565,275 ordinary shares acquired on the NZX at an average price of NZ$0.6135 and 264,358 ordinary shares acquired on the ASX for an average price of AU$0.5551. It also acquired off-market 863,495 ordinary shares from the Crown for NZ$0.6131 each.
The company's shares fell almost 1% in recent trading on New Zealand's Exchange on Wednesday.
