虽然尚不清楚白宫是否已向参议院提交了相关文件，但据Semafor的Eleanor Mueller在3月17日的X帖子中表示，参议院银行、住房和城市事务委员会主席Tim Scott计划在3月27日举行听证会，审查Atkins的资格。Mueller还表示，参议院银行委员会计划于3月21日就Atkins的提名举行两党会议。
据《福布斯》2024年12月14日报道，Atkins妻子的家族与TAMKO Building Products LLC有关联，这是一家住宅屋顶瓦片制造商，据报道2023年收入达12亿美元。自特朗普于12月4日选择Atkins领导SEC以来，已经过去了近四个月，而自特朗普于1月20日就职以来，也已经过去了两个多月。然而，SEC主席的延迟上任并不罕见。
