PANews 4月10日消息，据Decrypt报道，世界粮食计划署美国分会目前接受80多种加密货币的捐赠，其中包括比特币、以太坊和USDC，也接受ApeCoin、BONK和狗狗币（Dogecoin）的捐赠。这一合作是世界粮食计划署美国分会通过紧急饥饿救济基金筹集2500万美元这一更广泛目标的一部分，旨在填补“为5800万濒临饥饿边缘的人提供终身援助”计划中的资金缺口。
在特朗普政府停止对包括阿富汗、叙利亚和也门在内的14个贫困国家的联合国紧急粮食援助计划供资后，该组织开始寻求新的捐赠。世界粮食计划署美国分会首席慈善与合作伙伴关系官Dorota Amin表示，该非营利组织正在寻求现代化，并补充说：“传统援助系统正承受着巨大压力。拥抱区块链和加密货币等新技术不仅是选择，更是必要之举。”她表示，全球人道主义预算缩减之际，饥饿危机正在加剧，而接受加密货币捐赠使该组织能够“融入一个不断壮大的、以使命为导向、渴望创造变革的个人群体”。
