Australia's expected inflation rate rose by 0.6 percentage points to 4.2% in April, according to a Thursday report from the Melbourne Institute.
The sharp changes in inflationary expectations in recent months reflect significant consumer uncertainty about the outlook, per the report.
Meanwhile, trimmed mean inflation expectations remain below their levels in the year-ago period, while expected wage growth continues to be relatively weak, the report said.
