Virgin Galactic said it is partnering with Redwire to build research payload lockers for its new Delta-class spaceships, aiming to expand microgravity research capabilities.

Redwire, which develops space infrastructure and microgravity research technology, will manufacture modular lockers designed to be compatible with longer-duration space mission standards, Virgin Galactic said.

The system will enable real-time data transmission during flights and support research for future orbital and deep-space missions, the company added.
