SoundHound AI Inc (NASDAQ: SOUN) stock surged 5.19% in Tuesday's pre-market session, following the announcement of a collaboration with Rekor Systems to integrate SoundHound's advanced voice and conversational AI with Rekor's vehicle recognition software, Rekor Scout®.
The partnership aims to transform emergency vehicle technology by delivering seamless, hands-free functionality for automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) and other critical vehicle systems. By enabling voice commands, officers can manage systems like light bars, sirens, radios, and HVAC controls, enhancing safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency during high-pressure situations.
The integration will also provide advanced capabilities such as real-time vehicle recognition and roadway analytics using Rekor Scout®. Additionally, SoundHound's voice AI will enable officers to interact with Mobile Data Terminals, query databases, log incident details, and dictate reports hands-free, reducing distractions and improving overall responsiveness.
