On December 20, 2024, the Hong Kong stock market opened mixed. The Hang Seng Index (HSI) flat, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) were unchanged, the Hang Seng Tech Index (HSTECH) rose by 0.1%, and the Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index (HSCCI) fell by 0.32%.

SMIC increasing by 2.5%. XIAOMI-W up by 0.5% and TENCENT up by 2%.

ICBC remained flat. The bank received multiple design patents, including for "bank cards," "smart service terminal vehicles," "projectors," and "smart interactive bank counters." This year, ICBC obtained 1,371 new patents, a decrease of 73.48% compared to the same period last year. Recently, ICBC issued the first tranche of 2024 total loss-absorbing capacity non-capital green bonds in the national interbank bond market, with an issuance size of RMB 10 billion and a coupon rate of 1.76%. The funds raised will be used to enhance ICBC's total loss-absorbing capacity and will be directed towards green industry projects.

BABA-W fell by 2.2%. Alibaba-W repurchased 2.068 million shares on December 18, 2024, at a cost of USD 22.093 million.

XIAOMI-W increased by 0.5%. The departure of Tesla Shanghai factory director Song Gang to join Envision Group, a company engaged in renewable energy, storage, hydrogen energy, smart batteries, and IoT, may have impacted the stock.

MIDEA GROUP fell by 0.2%. Midea Group obtained 2,922 new patents this year, an increase of 13.34% compared to the same period last year. The company received multiple utility model patents, including for refrigerators, outdoor air conditioning units, axial fan blades, drawer components, and refrigeration equipment.

BIDU-SW fell by 1.7%. The mixed performance of major US stock indices, with the Nasdaq down 0.1%, the S&P 500 down 0.09%, and the Dow Jones up 0.04%, influenced the stock. Additionally, the exposure of the settlement plan document for Jiyue employees, confirmed by internal employees, may have contributed to the decline.

ANTA SPORTS rose by 1.3%. Anta Sports repurchased 2.63-3.15 million shares, with funds amounting to HKD 209-250 million.

WEIMOB INC surged by 16%. The daily search volume on Xiaohongshu in the fourth quarter of 2024 approached 600 million times, exceeding half of Baidu's search volume.

EAST BUY increased by 9.7%.
