Sunny Optical Technology Posts Mixed Shipment Volume in August
Sunny Optical Technology (Group) (HKG:2382) saw a 14.6% year-over-year boost in the shipment volume of its handset lens sets to 124.1 million units in August, a Monday bourse filing said.
The lens maker attributed the growth mainly to the low base caused by weak demand from the overall smartphone market in the year-ago period.
Handset camera module shipments, on the other hand, fell by 25.2% to 39.6 million units, mainly due to product mix improvement compared to last year.
Shipments of vehicle lens sets rose by 4.3% during the month to 8.4 million units, according to the filing.
The optical products manufacturer shares were down by 2% on Tuesday.
