Press Metal Aluminium (KLSE:PMETAL) said a fire broke out at a smelter owned by its unit Press Metal Bintulu in Samalaju Industrial Park, according to a Tuesday Malaysian bourse filing.
The fire was extinguished shortly after but affected 100 pots out of the 300 pots in phase three. However, phases one and two remained unaffected.
The incident impacted about 9% of the company's total smelting capacity across Samalaju and Mukah in Sarawak, Malaysia.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, the aluminum producer said.
Shares gained marginally recently.
