Prudential (HKG:2378, SGX:K6S) repurchased 1,518,007 shares in London at an average price of about 6.28 pounds sterling apiece on Friday, according to a Monday filing with the Hong Kong stock exchange.
Upon cancellation of the purchased shares, the company will have 2,724,790,367 shares in issue, the filing said.
Shares slipped 2% in Hong Kong before midday Monday.
