Update: EU Watchdog Probes Alphabet Unit Google's Privacy Compliance in AI Model

Ireland's Data Protection Commission said Thursday that it has opened a probe on Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google to see whether they have implemented adequate protections on EU users' personal data before using them to train its foundational AI model, Pathways Language Model 2.

"We take seriously our obligations under the GDPR and will work constructively with the DPC to answer their questions," a Google spokesperson told MT Newswires.
