3SBio's (HKG:1530) granted a total of 40,357,688 shares to 270 participants under a share award scheme, a Monday bourse filing said.

Of this, 34,107,688 shares were granted to 267 employees of the company, with three connected persons getting 6,250,000 shares.

The shares represent roughly 1.7% of the the drug company's total number of issued shares as of Monday.

Shares of the company closed over 4% higher on Tuesday.
