Singapore's stock market remained muted on Wednesday after global markets booked overnight losses amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The Straits Times Index ranged between 3,574.61 and 3,599.35 throughout the day. It ended the session at 3,584.67, up by 3.71 points or 0.1%.
In economic news, Singapore's private residential market slowed in the third quarter of 2024, with property prices falling for the first time since the second quarter of 2023, according to flash estimates from the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
In company news, NIO gained 7.85%; Singtel fell 0.62%.
Shares of A-Smart rose 6.67% at the close after the company appointed Chu Hongtao as chief operating officer.
Prospera Global was up over 3% after it appointed Guo Jiahui as the group's chief executive officer.
