European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving lower late Tuesday morning, declining 0.74% to 1,424.59 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT) and oil and gas company TotalEnergies (TTE), which rose 1.4% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which increased 1.8% and 1.2%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which shed 14% and 8.4% respectively. They were followed by financial services company Banco Santander (SAN) and biotech firm Evaxion Biotech (EVAX), which dropped 5.4% and 5.1% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which were up 1.8% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL) and communications company WPP (WPP), which both increased 1.3%.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA) and cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which lost 10% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) and Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC), which were down 3.4% and 3.2% respectively.
