Element 25 (ASX:E25) joined forces with transport firm Scania and mining services firm ReGroup to launch an autonomous mining fleet for the Butcherbird manganese mine in Western Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The fleet, comprised of 11 rigid G 560 8x4 tippers, is expected to reduce the project's carbon footprint, enhance safety, and lower operations costs. A fully battery electric vehicle, serving as a water truck, will also be part of the fleet, the filing said.
The parties are currently finalizing the details of the launch, the filing added.
Shares of Element 25 fell 3% in recent trade.
