Prudential (HKG:2378, SGX:K6S) repurchased 1,000,000 shares in London on Monday at an average price of about 7.175 pounds sterling per share, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Upon cancellation of the purchased shares, the company will have 2,700,777,492 shares in issue, the filing said.

Shares in Prudential fell 4% in Hong Kong during Tuesday's afternoon trading.
