Energy stocks rose pre-bell Wednesday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was up 0.3% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 2.1% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.1% lower at $70.50 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil declined 0.1% to $74.19 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 2.3% at $2.44 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Woodside Energy Group (WDS) shares were up over 1% after the company reported higher Q3 revenue, production, and sales volume.
Murphy Oil (MUR) filed a shelf registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, covering the potential sale of securities from time to time in one or more offerings. Murphy Oil shares were over 1% higher premarket.
