Beach Energy (ASX:BPT) said commissioning of the Moomba carbon capture and storage project in South Australia was completed, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.

Daily carbon dioxide injection has reached capacity rates, indicating the project's potential to capture and store about 1.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, the filing said.

The project will store all vented reservoir carbon dioxide from the Moomba gas plant, according to the filing.
