The New York-based bank said it had earnings of 18 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 18 cents per share.
The holding company for Valley National Bank posted revenue of $921.2 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $472.5 million, beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $467.9 million.
