BERLIN, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Chinese automaker BYD sees pending European Union tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles as a short-term challenge but it is working on a solution, its vice president, Stella Li, told the Automobilwoche in remarks published on Friday.
In the end it is the consumer who pays the price for the "unfair" tariffs, Li said.
"The tariffs are a short-term challenge for us, but in the long term BYD is working on a solution here. BYD will continue to work hard to become more global, which means that we will localize," said Li in an interview.
