Manulife Financial (HKG:0945) reported a net income of $1.8 billion attributed to shareholders in the third quarter, up 82% from $1.01 billion in the prior year quarter, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
Earnings per share were $1.0, compared with $0.52 a year ago.
Core revenue in the three-month period was $2.06 billion, compared with $1.78 billion from the previous year's same quarter.
The company also declared C$0.40 per share dividend, which will be paid out on and after Dec. 19, according to a separate filing on Thursday.
The financial services provider's shares were up by over 3% in recent trading.
