Democratic candidate Kelly Morrison was elected to represent a suburban Minnesota district, a victory that will make her the only obstetrician-gynocologist in Congress to support abortion rights. With most of the vote counted, Morrison had secured 59% of votes compared to her Republican challenger, Tad Jude, who had 41% of the vote. Congress's two OB-GYNs -- Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas and Rep. Michael Burgess of Texas, who is retiring -- supported the Supreme Court decision that ended the constitutional right to abortion. The seat came open after Rep. Dean Phillips decided to run for president.
