1520 ET - Bank of Canada senior officials believe geopolitical risks are "more prominent than normal," according to the minutes of central-bank deliberations ahead of their Oct. 23 half-point cut. The minutes don't cite specific hotspots, but the central bank's most recent forecast notes conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, and the possibility of heightened trade tensions following the US election. Most concern in Canada about the US elections is the possibility of a Trump victory, who has promised a 10% tariff on all imports. About three-quarters of all Canadian exports are US-bound.
