Iveco Group's IDV defense and civil-protection equipment brand signed a preliminary agreement for the supply of parts to a combat-vehicle joint venture formed by European arms makers Rheinmetall and Leonardo.

IDV said late Monday that its participation will represent between 12% and 15% of the joint venture's development and production of tracked combat ground vehicles for the Italian army.

Financial details weren't disclosed.
