Health software developer Alcidion Group (ASX: ALC) has signed a $4.5 million contract with Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) for the use of its Miya Precision smart platform and Smartpage mobile clinical task management solutions.

NALHN is one of the largest networks of its kind in South Australia, providing a range of public hospital, community and home-based services across sites in the northern and north-eastern areas of Adelaide.

It employs nearly 6,500 staff and delivers services to more than 400,000 people in the community.

Real-time view

Under the terms of the five-year deal, Miya Precision will be integrated with electronic patient records and other clinical applications deployed at NALHN to provide a real-time, streamlined view of each patient’s journey across the group’s facilities.

The integration is expected to support patient flow management, improve command centre operations, secure clinical task management and messaging, while also providing mobile access to real-time data.

The contract was awarded via a tender process and represents Alcidion’s first deployment of Miya Precision into SA.

Patient management

Alcidion managing director Kate Quirke said the contract would provide an interoperable, multi-facility digital health platform delivering end-to-end patient flow management.

Miya Precision is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform designed to provide the healthcare sector with actionable insights by consolidating information from disparate systems and presenting it in an “intuitive interface” highlighting critical issues and their required actions.

Miya Precision’s modular architecture supports extensive configurability to align with local requirements and workflows, including clinical decision support and clinical dashboards.

Smartpage is an advanced smartphone and web-based system for hospital communication and task management, addressing the requirements of clinical and non-clinical users.

It facilitates rapid, reliable and comprehensive messaging with two-way closed-loop communication, task management and the facility for detailed handover.
