HKBN (HKG:1310) downplayed some media reports and market rumors about China Mobile (HKG:0941, SHA:600941) acquiring a significant stake in the company, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The company, however, added that it received a non-binding proposal from China Mobile Hong Kong about a potential cash offer to acquire all the issued ordinary shares in the company.

The two parties are still in discussions about the term of the proposal.
