Evolution Energy Minerals (ASX:EV1) named George Donne as chief executive, effective immediately, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Donne has over 20 years of experience in the mining sector, the filing said.

Evolution Energy Minerals shares rose nearly 3% in afternoon trade Monday.
