US equity futures were narrowly mixed Tuesday as traders stayed on the sidelines ahead of the release of the minutes from the Federal Reserve's most recent policy-setting meeting.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 0.3%, S&P 500 futures increased 0.2%, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.2%.
Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 0.7% at $72.98 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude up 0.8% at $69.50 per barrel.
The Case-Shiller Home Price Index is scheduled for release at 9 am ET.
Consumer confidence, due at 10 am ET, is seen rising to 111.8 in November from a 108.7 reading in the previous month. New home sales are seen rising at a 725,000 annual rate in October compared with 738,000 rate previously.
The Federal Open Market Committee will release the minutes from its latest meeting at 2 pm ET.
In other world markets, Japan's Nikkei closed 0.9% lower, Hong Kong's Hang Index ended 0.04% higher, and China's Shanghai Composite finished 0.1% lower. Meanwhile, UK's FTSE 100 slipped 0.2% and Germany's DAX index fell 0.2% in Europe's early afternoon session.
In equities, Poseida Therapeutics (PSTX) shares increased more than three-fold pre-bell after the company agreed to be acquired by Roche Holdings in a $1.5 billion deal.
On the losing side, Astronics (ATRO) shares decreased 17% after the company priced a private offering late Monday of $150 million convertible senior notes. Leslie's (LESL) shares dropped 17% after the company reported late Monday lower fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings and sales.
