Macquarie Group's (ASX:MQG) global battery storage platform Eku Energy started construction for the Williamsdale project.
The battery energy storage system is part of the wider Big Canberra Battery project and supports the Australian Capital Territory's (ACT) transition to renewable energy and net-zero emissions by 2045, Eku Energy and the ACT government said in a joint statement on Nov. 22.
Construction of the project is expected to result in 200 jobs, according to the statement.
