Synlait Milk (NZE:SML, ASX:SM1) decreased its Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by 20% during the financial year ended July 31, compared with fiscal 2020, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
The comparable period included the onboarding of the company's North Island milk supply.
Scope 2 emissions declined 11% during the same period as the dairy company switched to electrode boiler from coal-fired boilers in Dunsandel, the filing said.
The company's shares rose past 1% in recent Wednesday trade in New Zealand.
