Indian telecom services provider Bharti Airtel (NSE:BHARTIARTL, BOM:532454) has awarded a multi-year extension deal to Ericsson for 4G and 5G RAN products and solutions, according to a Wednesday filing to the stock exchanges.
According to the terms of the new deal, Ericsson will provide Open RAN-ready and centralized RAN solutions for network transformation, giving clients access to increased network capacity and coverage.
To improve customer satisfaction, Ericsson will also upgrade the software on its currently deployed 4G radios, the company said.
Shares of the company were down over 2% in recent trade.
