Northland Power named energy-industry veteran Christine Healy its next president and chief executive as the Canadian power producer looks to grow its operations.
Healy is set to take up the post Feb. 5 and will also be appointed as a director, subject to confirmation at the Toronto company's next annual shareholders meeting.
She will succeed John Brace, who became executive chairman earlier this year and took on the role of president and CEO on an interim basis with the departure of Mike Crawley at the end of September.
Healy joins Northland from engineering-services and nuclear company AtkinsRealis, where she is president for Asia, the Middle East and Australia. Before AtkinsRealis, she held senior executive roles at TotalEnergies for more than five years, served as president and CEO of Total E&P Canada, and was chief strategy officer and general counsel at Maersk Oil & Gas and vice president of North America business development at Statoil.
Northland in late March said its board and Crawley had agreed to a change in leadership, which led to Crawley stepping down after leading the company for six years. At that time, Brace, who was Northland's CEO from 2003 to 2018, moved from chairman to executive chairman. The company's plan is for Brace to return to his position as non-executive board chair.
