** Sub-index tracks overnight gains in Wall Street, as Nasdaq and S&P 500 scored record closing highs, boosted by tech-related shares .N

** Stock posts its biggest intraday pct gain since Nov. 19

** Shares of software developer Xero XRO.AX rise about 0.6%

** AXIJ up 58.9% YTD, as of 1127 GMT
