You guys, I’m raging. Against my better judgment, I bought a 77-inch LG C2 in February 2023 for $3,200 despite knowing the price would plummet just a few months later after the C3’s launch. I was incredibly thirsty to give my 120Hz gaming consoles a proper upgrade. Imagine how I’m feeling now that Best Buy is selling the 77-inch LG C3 for just $1,499.99, which is a massive $800 off and by far the lowest price we’ve seen.
To put that into perspective, the 77-inch LG C4 is going for $2,199.99 ($600 off) at Best Buy right now. You’d need to step down to 65 inches if you want to find the same price or close on the newer C4 and other flagship OLED models from 2024. Pound for pound, it’s hard to find a better Cyber Monday TV deal.
The LG C3 offers more processing power than its predecessor and several new picture modes. It continues to offer a 120Hz refresh rate and low input lag as well, along with support for Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync variable refresh rate tech.
The LG C3 offers a slightly brighter panel than the C2 it replaced, compensating for the one area OLED TVs lack when compared to QLED panels. However, improved brightness alone isn’t enough to consider upgrading from the C2 or any other older OLED. It’s a great jump if you’re a gamer coming from an older set that doesn’t have HDMI 2.1 ports, though, or a 120Hz variable refresh rate and auto low-latency mode. And, of course, it’s killer as a first OLED if you’re new to the game in general.
There aren’t many other advantages for spending extra on the LG C4, either, save for a 144Hz maximum refresh rate (which only PC gamers can potentially use, as consoles don’t yet target framerates in that range). And neither TV supports the latest in AI upscaling, as they lack the newer a11 imaging processor found in the more premium G4 model.
That being said, you won’t have much to complain about with the C3’s picture quality, which still benefits from AI-powered tuning, great viewing angles, and the deep black levels often associated with modern OLED panels. Plus, you’ll get the same fun features tied to the webOS user experience — including built-in cloud gaming and score alerts for your favorite sports teams. It also includes a Magic Remote that pairs wand-like motion control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
