Financial stocks were steady premarket Thursday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) was recently inactive.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.4% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.4% higher.
Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) shares were down more than 2% after the company reported lower fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings. The company also said it is conducting a strategic review of its opportunities, productivity initiatives, and capital allocation, resulting in the suspension of its medium-term financial targets.
Bank of Montreal (BMO) shares were over 2% lower after the company reported a decline in fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings.
CME Group (CME) shares were up 0.6% after the company said its board approved an annual variable dividend totaling $2.1 billion as well as a share repurchase program of up to $3 billion of class A common stock.
