CHICAGO, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn were flat to lower at river terminals and ethanol plants around the U.S. Midwest on Thursday as futures firmed and merchants said they were receiving plenty of supply.

* The corn basis fell at a river terminal in Davenport, Iowa and an ethanol plant in Linden, Indiana.

* March corn futures CH25 traded up 1-1/2 cents at $4.38-3/4 at 11:11 a.m. CST (1711 GMT).

* January soybean futures SF25 rose 5-1/4 cents to $9.57 a bushel, having earlier reached contract lows.
