Sembcorp Industries (SGX:U96) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra, was given a letter of award for a 150 MW solar photovoltaic project and a battery energy storage system of 300MWh project by the Solar Energy Corporation of India.
The project is part of a bid of 2GW inter-state transmission system solar projects issued by the Indian company, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Wednesday.
The project will provide on-demand power to support the country's daily peak electricity for four hours over a 25-year period, following the execution of a power purchase agreement.
Following the award of the project, Sembcorp's global renewable capacity stands at 16.5GW.
