Knowles (KN) said Monday it closed the sale of its consumer micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) microphones business to Syntiant.
Knowles said that divestment represents the "final step" in the company's evaluation of strategic alternatives for the business launched on Sept. 18, 2023.
Knowles Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Niew said the sale is part of the company's plans to become a major industrial technology company "focusing on higher value markets where we can continue to drive value through our product design, process technology and our ability to customize solutions for customers at scale."
