Walt Disney's (DIS) plan to merge its Hulu + Live TV business with FuboTV (FUBO) doesn't resolve antitrust issues around the proposed Venu Sports venture, DirecTV said in a letter to a federal judge, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Fubo has agreed to settle all existing litigation related to Venu Sports, the proposed streaming platform planned by ESPN, Fox (FOX, FOXA) and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD).
DirecTV told US Judge Margaret Garnett in New York that the Venu venture would offer content other distributors, including DirecTV, are barred from showing, and it was concerned about the impact the venture would have on competition for sports programming, the report said.
DirecTV echoed a letter that EchoStar wrote on Tuesday, the report said.
Disney, DirecTV and FuboTV didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
