Blackstone, Vista Equity Acquisition of Smartsheet Cleared by European Commission

Blackstone (BX) and Vista Equity Partners Management's acquisition of Smartsheet (SMAR) was cleared by the European Commission, the regulator said Thursday.

The commission said it concluded that the "transaction would not raise competition concerns," given the companies' "limited" market position.

Smartsheet agreed in September to be acquired by funds managed by Vista and Blackstone in an all-cash deal valued at $8.4 billion.
