1207 ET - Flowers Foods' $795 million acquisition of Simple Mills is likely to immediately grow margins and sales, Truist analysts say, maintaining their hold rating. Simple Mills is expected to add about 0.6% to Flowers' 2025 organic growth, which is pretty significant because the company is only expected to post 0.5% growth in 2024, the analysts estimate. If the merger goes through, analysts believe Flowers can expand Simple Mills' distribution to maintain or increase its growth trajectory. Flowers shares slip 3.1%. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
