0705 GMT - Airbus missed its plane delivery target for 2024 but the European plane maker's deliveries should start to pick up in the second quarter of the year, Citi analysts Charles J Armitage and Sam Burgess say in a research note. Airbus said Thursday that it had delivered 766 commercial aircraft to customers in 2024, beating the previous year's figure, but short of the 770 it had guided for. "We believe 1Q 2025 deliveries are likely to be weak, due to few aircraft in inventory following the strong December," the analysts say. They expect deliveries to pick up in 2Q as new LEAP engine blades are built and put into new engines. (pierre.bertrand@wsj.com)
