Airbus's 2025 Outlook Will Largely Depend on Engine Deliveries -- Market Talk

0650 GMT - Airbus's year-end results are positive for its 2025 outlook, but engine deliveries are a key factor for the company's prospects this year, RBC Capital Markets' Ken Herbert says in a research note. The European plane maker delivered 123 aircraft in December to end the year with 766 shipments to customers, short of the 770 the company targeted but ahead of consensus expectations of 755. "We believe the key bottleneck to greater A320 [narrow-body jet] deliveries in 2024 was the engine supply chain, with the Leap in particular," the analyst says, referring to the engine made by the Safran-GE Aerospace joint venture CFM International. RBC expects Airbus to guide for around 825 deliveries in 2025, which would be positive for investor sentiment, the analyst says. (adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
