Financial stocks were edging higher premarket Thursday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) recently up 0.1%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was unchanged.

Morgan Stanley (MS) shares advanced by more than 1% after the company reported higher Q4 earnings and net revenue.

U.S. Bancorp (USB) shares were down more than 3% after the company reported Q4 adjusted earnings and revenue that missed expectations.

PNC Financial Services Group (PNC) shares were down more than 4% even after the company reported higher Q4 earnings and revenue.
